Income for the year exceeded the expenditure by £l3 8s 4d. Representative Games (senior): Unfortunately no games were played in Grevmouth, but two games were played awav from Grevmouth. The annual home and away fixture with Ashburton was played during the New Year at Ashburton, when the Coast team won by six wickets, after an interesting game in which two tine exhibitions of batting were displayed by K. Nicol, of Ashburton (lOS runs, not out) and (). J. Morris, of the Coast team (07 runs). At Easter Westport was paid a visit, the Forrest Cup, generously don ated by Mr L. Forrest for annual competition between teams representing the West Coast and Buller Associations, being at stake. In this game also, the Coast gained a victory and •had the Association’s name first to be engraved on the. Cup. Third grade: Two teams, one from Grevmouth and one from Hokitika, travelled to Christchurch during the Christmas holidays for the annual match with the Canterbury Boys’ Association, and played four games with them. The most important game was won by Greymouth, whilst the other three resulted in wins for the Canterbury teams.

Competition Games: For the second lime Marist were winners of the Wingham Cup. whilst the United A team carried off the Feary Cup. Tn the junior or B Division, Kamaka again were victorious in the Wingham Shield competition. whilst Kumara were worthy winners of the two-round competition. The Saturday competition was commenced and placed on a sound footing with five teams entered, Cobden eventtiallv winning. Technical B were winners of the Seddon Cup for third grade competition. This Season: The prospects for the approaching season appear to be oi the best, especially now that the Recreation Ground has been made into a first-class sports ground. This should bo advantageous to local cricket ami also help towards entertaining representative games with visiting teams, of which we have prospects of at least three this coming season. Ashburton and Buller teams have matches in Grevmouth, whilst in all probability Nelson will pay us a visit early in the New Year. Our thanks are due to the press for their reports, also the various umpires who officiated during the past season, and Mr Nightingale for the use of his office for meetings.
