Waihi Miners COMRADES OBJECT. (Per Press Association.) WAIHI, September 19. A stop-work meeting of the Waihi Miners’ Union wa» held to-day, fol lowing the dismissal last week of a dozen elderly workers, who were replaced by men under 45 years of age. Over 500 miners attended a very orderly meeting. The following resolution was carried: “That the matter be referred to the Conciliation Commis sioner to arrange a conference between the Union and the Waihi Gold
Mining Company. In the meantime, men to return to work, when the Waihi mine re-op'eng at midnight on Wednesday. ”
