(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, September 16. A Black’s Point resident writes complaining of the annoyances to which the residents are subjected to by the unruly young elements of the' place This is taking place nightly and the writer states that eve n sick peopl e are subject to these petty annoyances. Mr George Hufton, Westport, formerly a well-known Black’s Point resident, was a visitor to Reefton yesterday The Reef ton Ladies’ Hockey team, who travelled to Westpbrt, to take part in the Stow-dl Cup Competition were beaten i n the first round by the Wesley team, by six goals to- one. Th c Wesley team annexed the Cup, beating Rangers in the final, by seve n goals to one. The Reefton team returned this morning. The following are the golf teams to play the team from Buller on Sunday:—Men; McKenzie, Blom, Pratt. Woods, Floyd, Lee, Hubbard. Stevens. Emergencies: Maindonald and Stevens. Ladies: Mesdamcs Prentice 1 , T. Patterson, Sharpe. Kane, Hubbard, Misses Kearns, King Magee. Emergency: Miss Brooks. Any of th e above who are> unable to play arc requested to notify the Secretary or Captain as early as possible. AH lady members are requested to provide for morning and afternoon tea. Miss Heather Wright, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Dan Wright, of Reefton, has certainly made a name for herself at the Greymouth Jubilee Competitions Festival, and Reeftonites will be proud of the fine performance of this young dancer. Out of ten events in which she was a competitor, Miss Wright won no fewer than seven, besides which she won the Iris Montgomery Dancing Cup as well as the cup for the most promising dancer at the festival. Ln addition another award for her was that of six months’ free tuition from Miss D. Thwaites. Without doubt, this girl has a bright future as a dancer, and her career will be watched with interest.
