BULLER ELECTORATE

TAURANGA BAY-OKARI ROAD. I Mr 11. E. Holland, M.P. has received the following letter (27/4/32) from the Minister of Public Works; “The construction ol\a further length of the above mentioned road to give access to the property of Mr J. F. Herring, of Totara Flat, was brought up, you will remember, in an interview on the sth inst., and I then promised to consider the matter and ascertain if available funds would permit of wort: being done on the road. I find that to improve this settler’s access wou cost £1587, and this would not include the bridging of the Okari River. Just at present I am unable to state definitely if it will be possible for me to make available a sum of sufficient magnitude to carry out this work, as the allocation available for roading purposes for 1923-33 has not yet been determined. However, I will bo quite prepared to give the Tauranga BayOkari Road consideration in accord ance with its merits when the est-i mates for the current year ,aro being reviewed.*’
