SHIP’S OFFICER INJURED. (Per Press Association). WANGANUI, May 1. Mr Michael Alexander McCormack, second mate on the steamer Gale, was injured on Saturday when he was crushed between the hatch and a bale of wool. He was taken to the hospital. His condition is satisfactory tonight. BARQUE IN DIFFICULTY. WELLINGTON, May 1. The Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department has received the following report from the Radio Station at Auckland: “The followingnavigation warning was intercepted from Adelaide radio at 9 p.m. on Saturday: 1 Shipmasters are warned that the barque Huogomont is demasted and is proceeding under lower sail. She was sighted at 7 a.m. on April 29th in. latitude 35.53 south, longitude 135.40 east, and shipmasters are requested to inform the Huogomont, if sighted, as follows:- “Your owners instruct, through Crosby Mann and Coy, that you are to proceed to the semaphore anchorage. Do not incur expense of towage and salvage.” ’ Shipmasters are requested to ask the master of the Huogomont if his lifeboats are intact, and in seaworthy condition, and report results.”
