APRIL STATISTICS
Customs Revenue Last month the Customs returns a L Greymouth amounted to £1631/5/8. as against £1325/0/7 for the corresponding month of last year. In April 1930, the returns totalled £3035/13/6. The Dunedin Customs returns for April were as follows, with the figures for April, 1931, in parentheses: — Customs £41,030 (£53,873); beer duty £20,237 (£18,600); tyre tax, £657 (£756); petrol, tax £12,666 (£12,429). VITAL STATISTICS. The vital statistics at Greymouth for April are as follow, the figures for April, 1931. being given in parentheses: —Deaths 7 (9); births 27 (31); Marriages 6 (8); marriages by Registrar 1 (1). The Dunedin vital statistics for April are as follows, the figures for the previous April being in parentheses:— Births 117 (117); Deaths 70 (60); marriages 46 (40).
