SINGAPORE EASE. LONDON. March 15. In the House of Commons, Mr Wailace told an inquirer that there was £618,000 on the Naval Estimates for work on the Singapore. Base. Good progress was being made with the actual work, and there was every reason to believe it would be completed in, 1935. Owing to the financial situation I they had not prepared plans for the j completion of a fully up-to-date base.' but the Admiralty was giving atten tion to the subject.
