LOSING SUBSCRIBERS. fPer Press Association;. WELLINGTON. February 19. In a statement to-day, the Postmas-ter-General spoke in regard to the loss of telephone subscribers. He said that last month there were 600 new connections, whereas 935 subscribers relinquished their connections, representing 335 connections given up. Taking the whole Dominion from the. first of April last, thp cumulative loss* ’n subscribers was 2,688, gome two or three per cent., which, in the present difficult timed, could not be regarded in any way as disastrous. Even a small concession in rentals would be a very serious thing at present.
