FAULTY MILK, (Per Press Association). TIMARU, February 18. At the Magistrate’s Court, William Me,Millan, milk vendor, was fined twenty pounds, and ten pounds, respectively on two charges of selling milk containing a prohibited preservative, and added water. NEW PLYMOUTH SENTENCES. NEW PLYMOUTH, February la. The following prisoners were sentenced to-day at the Supreme Court, by Justice Blair: —Edward William Moyle, attempted bestiality, 12 months ’ hard labour Charlie Chin, carnal knowledge, two years* hard labour; Gordon Stanley Berge and Verne Arthur Hopkinson. breaking, entering amt’ thett, and attempted ditto three years’ probation, and ordered to pay half the cost of the prosecution, eorge Harrop, forgery and theft of postal notes, two years ’ probation, and Ordered to pay the cost of the prose cution. A SHOPLIFTERCHRISTCHURCH, February 18. Illa May Wilson, domestic, aged 20 was sentenced to four months’ hard labour, at the Magistrate’s Court, today, on 15 charges of theft from seven city firms, of goods to the tot'll value of £77/17/6. Evidence showed that she had been operating in shop* for two months. The Chief Detective described her as a bed and cunning thief.’
