JAPAN v. AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, February 11. The third and deciding tennis test, Australia v. Japan, began to-day. Vivian McGrath, the champion colt, played an exhibition match against Moon, whom he defeated at Adelaide. McGrath again triumphed, winning straight sets 6/3, 6/4. The test results were: Singles match—Satoh (Japan) defeated C. Sproule 6/3, 3/6, 6/3. This was Sproule’s first international game. Crawford beat Nunoi (Japan) 6/1, 6/1. Harada (Japan) beat Hopman 6/3, 6/3. Doubles—Crawford and Sproule beat Satoh and Nunoi 6/4, 4/6, 7/5. Scores: Australia two rubbers, five sets, 47 games; Japan two rubbers, five . sets, 44 games. The test continues tomorrow.
