FLOWER SHOW

AT ST. JOHN’S HALL. There was a large and artistic display of flowers of all species and shades at the St. John’s Hall yesterday, when the annual flower show was held. The entries were large in all sections and the quality of the blooms (displayed favourably impressed all. visitors. The vegetable and decorative sections were also very attractive, while the various stalls did great business throughout the afternoon. Much of the credit for the success of the show was duo to the efforts of the energetic Secretary, Mrs C. Woods and to the stall-holders and other assistants who were as follows: Cakes, Mrs O- McLean and Mrs A. H. Paterson; Sweets, Mrs Low a.iO Mrs McDonald,,; Vegetables, Mr? C. Rose and Mrs Kyle. Tea Rooms, Mrs T Learmont and Mrs J. McKenzie; Croquet. Mrs D. Tennent and Mrs A. Smith. The judges were Mr F. Groufsky, Hokitika, cut flowers and vegetables ana Mrs Rattray and Miss F. Broad, decorative section. The winner of the trophy for the most points in, the decorative section was Miss N. Tennent, Mirs M.
