Truce Adopted BY 43 STATES. (Received Nov. 17 at 9 p.m.) GENEVA, November 17. Forty-five out of the sixty States invited, have replied that hey are willing, in accordance with Signor Grandi’s resolution at the Leaspi e Assembly in September, for a year’s armament truce from November 4th. Soane of the States have made reservations, but M. Briand, the President of the Council, has declared that the truce may be considered accepted unless Governments' forthwith intimate an objection. Hall, to-night, passed a resolution welcoming the fottheoming Disarmajment Conference, urging th e Gov ornment s to do all in their power to bring about a reduction in the military, naval and air forces of the world. The speakers wer e the Prime Minister (Mr Scullin), Mr Theodore. Mr Latham and Mr Bavin. It was announced that a petition was already signed by 95,000 persons in favour of disarmament, the objective being a hundred thousand signatlorie*.
