FOR UNEMPLOYED Mr O’Brien Quotes Cases (Special to “Argus.”) WELLINGTON, November 9. The Minister of Healtlhi was asked by Mr Jas. O’Brien in the House today !if he would take steps to have the Hospital Boards supplied with sufficient money to enable thorn to relieve the necessitous cases, and particularly the case wher e men cannot be given wefrk under the unemployment schemes to keep themselves and their families. Applicants for relief are frequently told that none can be granted because no money is f ava)i.lab'le, Mr O’Brien said. In the meantime, such applicants and their families are 'in a desperate situation. Mr Young, in reply, said that a sum to. enable the G’overiyment to make advances to the Hospital Boards, which require assistance by extraordinary ohitdoor relief has been providled, and applications from any such I Board will be dealt with as provided for by Section 54 of the Hospital Act amd by Section 19 of’the Finance Act Nov 4, at present before the House All of the Boards would be duly notified.
