COMMUNIST COUP
With Mexican Radio CALLES AND CO. CASTIGATED. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn). (Received November 9 at 9.50 p.m.) MEXICO CITY. November 9. Probably a unique incident in the annals of radio broadcasting occurred when a band of Communists forciblyentered the prominent Station X.E.W. “The Voice of Latin America,” where ’they overpowered the operator. Thereafter the Communists transmitted a series of insults to President Rubio, and also to ex-President Calles and the American Ambassador, Mr Clark also in highly-offensive phraseology. The speakers attacked American imperialism, for its alleged attempts to provoke war by Russia and China against Japan. The group cut- the telephones when a large number of persons called for explanations. The police are unable to trace the subversive propagandists.
