Trial of Opponents < SCENE OUTSIDE COURT. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn)-.-(Received November 9 at 9.15 p.m.) SYDNEY. November 9. Lively scenes were witnessed outside (he Darlinghurst Supreme Court today on the occasion of the trial of the seventeen men who were arrested during the anti-eviction riots at Bankstown a few’ months ago. Nearly one thousand people surged round the entrance to .the Court, and they hooted the police and sang “ I he Rid Flag.” A Communist mounted a soap box and began addressing the demonstrators. The police, however, hauled him down. He was resisting and kicking. The situation was extremely grave, but the police drew their batons, and scattered the sympathisers, and abo arrested a good many, includ Ag women with their children in arms. These women were screeching and protesting.
