DROP IN EXCHANGE
Australia’s Expectation (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received November 8 at 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, November 7. The newspapers are beginning to speculate upon an early reduction in Australia’s rate of exchange. Highly placed people, however, withhold their opinion, pointing out that there are now complexities in relation to the depreciated value of sterling. It is the general opinion nevertheless. that as soon as Australia’s export season reaches its height, and balances accumulate at London there will be some relief, which is desirable.
