Against Budget MEMBER’S WARNING. (Special to Argus.) WELLINGTON, August 18. The financial': d.cbato continued dully throughout the afternoon, and ev«yiing. Mr Kyle (Reform), indicated that ho wbuld vote against t'he customs taxation of the Government, particul aaly -the primage duty, which, he said, wag a dircot tax cn the) local manufactw.br in-as-much as it raised the cost of raw malerial, and increase! the burden of the local ina,nufacturinsr overhead cost. Rev. C. Carr commented on the length of the debate), and said that it appeared tha<t the Government was going io be flogged for the mistakes cf the past, and, at the same time, given plenty of timet to make more. The budget wa s of the “hit ct miss,” of a “catch, a R catch can,” budget. The proposals in the budget would ini crease ’the co i of living, and the i working classes -would be cabled upon to pay- It remained to bq seen if the Reform Party would form a death pact with the Government. He, personally, hoped the Party would act according to the iudicajtions given, by some of its back benches.
