SLIP AT MINE

BRIANDALE COLLIERY MISHAP. The Briandale mine, which was : worked out on Friday last., did not j»• ease operations before an accident i occurred. Just after’ the gear had been got out of the colliery on Friday, and an engine was bringing, away a rake of trucks, an axle of the locomotive broke, entailing a stoppage for repairs. Before this could be effected, however, the cliff at the pit mouth collapsed upo u the trucks, burying them, •and also partly engulfing the Joconioitive. The latter was later got clear, but the slip damaged the power lines I and a transformer, cutting off the [power supply of the Hill Top mine, as well as blocking the Ten Mile Cre<*k.. Thi s interfere with three co-opera-tive mines, and it will take a few days; to clear away thp debris.
