At a meeting to-day held in Westport, a District Council was constituted iin accordance with the National Tn--1 dust rial Council set up at the Open Conference held at Wellington. It was decided to hold a monster Labour Demonstration in Vi ctor''a Square, Westport, on May 12 to protest against wages cuts. The meeting also protested against the arrest and gaoling of workers in connection with the unemployed demonstration, claiming the right of the workers to demonstrate as a moans of expressing their opinions on political and industrial matters.
