SATURDAY, MAY 2ND. • This evening, IYA will broadcast a ’ studio concert to be given by the Municipal Band, under the direction of ' Capt. George Buckley. • From 2YA at 7.40, under the auspices i of the W.E.A., there will be an inter- | csting dialogue by Mr J. R. Elliot and Dr. I. A. Henning, lecturers of the . Victorian University College. The I dialogue is entitled “Two Australians I Discuss the State of their Country.” | 2YA will be relaying the concert i to be given by the Wellington Symphony Orchestra under Mr Leou de Mauny, in the Wellington Town Hall. An orchestral programme par excellence’ will be presented. Miss Hilda i Chudley (contralto) will be heard in j two solos, “The Soldier’s Wife” and r “Spring Waters,” both by Rachmaninoff. ; This evening’s miscellaneous pro- . gramme for 3YA (also to be broadcast by 4YA) will contain much variety. I Popular songs will be sung by Mrs C. E. McDowall (soprano). Miss Kathleen Bond (contralto), Mr David McGill (tenor) and Mr Leslie Stewart (bariI tone). Miss Edna Jarden, who will I contribute piano improvisations, is a very accomplished musician. Banjolin ( solos by Mr Arthur Hodgson and popular airs played on the mouth organ by Mr J. Woodham are also on the programme. Two humourous numbers will be given by Mr Harold Shaw and there will be two cornet solos by Mr R. H. Ohlson.
