At the monthly meeting of the District Committee of the Grey Jockey Club yesterday, a motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr J. D. Wingham, a member of the Committee. Mr W. 11. Parfitt, Acting Chairman, said that all regretted the great loss the sport had sustained. Th* late Air Wingham’s association with the District Committee had been spread over a period of 14 years, during which time he had done a lot of good work for the sport. He had also been a horse owner, and had been one for the betterment of the town generally.
