BREAKS TAIL SHAFT. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. April 30. I The steamer Progress, bound from Lyttelton to Wellington, broke her tail [shaft in Cook Strait to-night. She signalled the fact to the Beacon Hill Sig|nal Station with a Morse lamp. The 'Harbour Board tug Toia left immediately. She is expected to reach her at (midnight, and take her in tow.
