The death took place at Wellington last week of Mr Walter Dalgleish, Stock Inspector in the Department, of Agriculture, Hastings. Mr Dalgleish went to Wellington on medical advice only a wbejt previously to be operated upon. After the operation he gradually, failed, however., and death occurred on Friday. Mr Dalgleish was born in the Clutha. district sixty years ago. At the age of twenty-three he joined the Agricultural Department, and at the time of liis death had Completed 37 years of unbroken service. He was first appointed to Gore, and later served at Wanganui, Wairoa, West Coast, and JJelson. Later he went to Hastings. . The deceased is. survived by his willow, and ah unmarried daughter, iliss Milvis Dalgleish, of Nelson. The late Mr Dalgleish was well known and highly respected during his time on the West Coast.
