Yesterday’s Prices (Special to “Argus."’) CHRISTCHURCH, October 22. I To-day’s sale of live stock at Addington is reviewed by Messrs H. Matson and Co., as follows: | There was a medium entry of pork and bacon. Prices were easier by os to 7s per bead, and competition was dragging. Porkers sold 48s 6d to 56s 6d. heavy 58s 6d to £3 7s 6d; average price BJd per lb. Bacon sold £3 9s 61 to £4 ss. heavy to £4 14s 6d; average price 6sd per lb. Store Sheep:—There were 2.350 yard- • ed. mn'mlv inferior and backward. There was a small attendance. Bid- ’ ding was slow. Ewes and lambs sold: '—Good 12s 7d to 14s. medium 9s 7d to Ils lOd, inferior down to 6s. We- • thers shorn sold 14s, three-quarter i bred 235. half-bred 19s, small 16s. Ewe J hoggets sold 22s 3d, shorn wethers 14s ‘ lOd and 9s. ! Mntton: —There were 3989 fat sheep i yarded. The market was a shade firmer. There was a fair proportion of shorn sheep yarded. Wethers sold: Extra to 37s 7d, prime 30s 6d to 34s 7d, medium 28s to 29s 6d, light 2os 6d to 275, plain 22s to 255; shorn to 28s 4d; < ewes extra 30s. prime 25s to 27s Id, medium 22s to 24s 6,1. light 19s to 21s. Beef: —There were 430 fat cattle J warded. The quality was good. Half the yarding came from the North Island or Southland. Prices were slig..t--;ly easier. Steers sold: —Extra £2l 12s 6,1 to £26 2s 6d, heavy £2O to £2l 17s 6d, medium £l6 to £l9 10s, light £l3 • lbs ro £l5; eows and heifers, extra £l4 to £.ls 17s 6,1, good £l2 10s to £l4 10s, ■ medium £lO 10s to £l2 ss; others £8 to £9 10s. Spring Lambs: —There were 180 yarded. The sale was firm at late rates. The best sold to 37s 7d. good 32s 6d ami 35s 7d. others 25s to 31s 6d.
