Cunningham’s Flight
RESUMED IN EAST INDIES. (Received September 10 at 7 p.m.) WELTEVREDEN, September 10. A message from Sourabaya says that the Australian aviator, Cunningham, whose flight to England was interrupted by a forced landing on August 7, having effected repairs, has landed at Sourabaya, after flying from Bima. He was seen and heard sometime, before his landing yesterday evening, but he then disappeared. A search resulted in his being found at eight o’clock in the- evening at an oilfields property south of Sourabaya. The rescue party found him under his plane, preparing to sleep there that night. He explained that he had lost his maps and had failed to locate the aerodrome.
