(Our Own Correspondent ) The annual general meeting of tho Seddon Memorial Library was held ou Monday night. The balance sheet was passed as satisfactory. The following officers - were elected fci rhe ensuing year: President, Mr Wylde (re-elect-ed); Secretary, Mr P. Merton (re-elect-ed); Committee: Messrs J. Deardon, T. Jackson, T. O’Neill, J. O’Neill ar.l W-. Simpson. It is expected, that there will be a few alterations to thf Institute made this year which will be Tor the convenience of the numerous subscribers. Nominations for offices will close at to-night’s meeting of rhe Union, to lie held in the Miners’ Hall. It is a ex pocted that all the positions will be keenly contested this year, as ther ’ will be an extra largo number of nominations. Local residents are taking the ap portunity, while the weather is good, to visit McTaggart Esplanade. The local band is expected to give a display of its music some Sunday in the near future. The co-operative mines are all being connected up with electricity. Forrest and Party are the latest to have it installed. Work in the co-operative mines hag been fairly steady throughout, though one or two parties have had an idle day now and again.
