UNMARRIED MEN

Ireland’s High Percentage (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received February 4 at 10 p.m.) LONDON, February 4. The Irish Free State census figures, just issued, reveal that that country possesses the world’s highest percentage of bachelors. Ireland has also a marked tendency to late marriages. Between the ages of 20 and 30 years the percentage of bachelors is eighty, and between 30 and 35 it is sixty-two. The next highest known percentage of bachelors is in Sweden, where the comparative figures are: From 25 to 30, sixty-four per cent. The corresponding figures for England and Wales are 45 per cent.; and for America 35 per cent. The returns also show that one out of every four women remaining in the Free State will never marry.
