A correspondent who witnessed Monday night's accident at the Greymouth wharf writes: Credit where Credit is due. The facts are that when Mr McMinn fell into the‘river off the gangway, some of the watersiders gave word of it to Mr H. Cawley. Asistant Wharf Foreman for the Union S|S. Coy. who was the man to go into the river and rescue McMinn, putting a rope around him and enabling him to be pulled up when the Harbour Board boat arrived. It is not the first person Mr Cawley has saved here from a watery grave.

Twenty-two trucks of lambs were railed through the tunnel to Canterbury yesterday, three going to Ka'-a-poi, four to Islington, and fifteen to Addington. In addition one truck of pigs and one of cattle were also consigned to Addington. On Menday four trucks of lambs were railed through two going to Kaiapoi and two to Islington.
