REEFTON NOTES.

(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON. May 12. The various schools throughout the Tnang.ihua district broke up on Fridav for the term holidays. The temperature has lowered condderably during the past few days, a heavy fall of snow being visible on the ranges yes erday. Hon Mr H. Atmore stated, on his return visit to Reefton, that he was unable to visit the Waiuta School on Thursday, owing to insufficient time, but would pay a visit at a later date. Mr E. Hayes, who has left for his now position at Dunedin, obtained his degree at the Canterbury University ve tbrday.

Miss D. Wills of Reefton is at present. in Chru-tchurch, and o u Saturday had the degree of B.A. conferred upon her.

Mr Rihari Heke, the one-legged D gger cyclist of Auckland, who is curing New Zt-aiand on a push bike, visited Reefton. and left yesterday for Greymouth.

Miss Brown, who has severed her connection with the Reefton School, has left for Dun edin.

Mrs Harder and Mrs Deadman who have been gue-ts at Dawson’s Hotel for some days, have left for Westport. The recount of the votes in he County elections makes no alteration from the first count as to those elected.
