MAY DAY AT BLACKBALL.
The annual May Day Sports of the Miners’ Union will be held on Wtdne day, Alay Ist. Substantially the same programme of events as that of former years will be held, viz:—Baby show, children’s races, all ages; miners’ shiftmen and truckers’ races; married women’s races, quoits handicap. stepping competition, kicking the football (League and Soccer), etc. Both bands will be in attendance, and proceedings will commence at 10.30 a.m. The annual May Day Ball will be held on May Day Eve. Tuesday, April 30. This promises to be the usual success. Several new features ind novelty dances will be introdtwe*>f A first class orchestra and good should satisfy the keenest discrl.u.inator.
