TRAM CRASHES IN SHOP. SYDNEY, April 26. There was a remarkable accident last night, when a tram left the rails in Ultimo, and crashed into a tobacconist’s shop. Almost simultaneously, fire broke out, adding further terror to the injured and frightened passengers. The driver, conductor, jignaiman and six passengers were injured. The driver was trapped in his compartment, but a man broke the window and released him. Fire brigades and ambulance were quickly on the scene and the flames were subdued. HARDSHIPS OF STRANDED YACHTSMEN. SYDNEY, April 26. News has just reached Rockhampton of the privations suffered by J. Allen and his two sons, who were sheltering in the yacht Eva during a gale off Cape Manifold when the anchors failed to hold, and the vessel was dashed to pieces on tko rocks. The trio managed to escape and lived for twelve days on a small bag of flour and some onion s which had been washed ashore. They eventually decided to walk to Yeppoon. Killing two native bears on the way, they managed to live until they reached a fishing camp at Corio Creek.
