For Hospital Nwses. IMPROVED CONDITIONS AT WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, April 24. “For some weeks now, by readjustment of the hours of service of the nu-s’ng staff, the nurses lave been getting a day a week off. This, we hope, will continue,” said the Chairman of the Hospital Board at the meeting to-day. Outlining ihe new works Jo be undertaken he remarked tha: a word should be said concerning the necessity for further addition to the nurses’ home, consequent inoa the general expansion and nee<3b the staff, to enable ihem to enj«y w lay off from their trying service. This had been expectrd to be provided by them, not onlj by the general public, but al o by the Government, which had urged tpou all hospitals, where possible to give the staff a day a week off.
