A YOUTHFUL ROGUE. HAMILTON, April 17. Three offences for burglary in Tirau district were admitted in the Hamil ton Police Court to-day by Leslie Arthur Marsh, aged 21, who came from England four years ago. • He was committed for sentence for breaking a probation order, and sentenced by the Magistra e, Air Wilson, to the Borstal for a period not exceeding two years. FAILURE TO REGISTER BRANDS HAMILTON, April 17. In the recent sheep stealing cases the police had difficulty owing to the failure of farmers to register brands. In order to impress on them the importance of obeying the law requiring registration, tt.v police to-day prosecuted Edwin Charles Shepherd, farmer, of the Huntly district, on two charges relating to failure t 0 register brands. Mr Justice Kennedy gave judgment in iho Supreme Court against two Dalmatians who claimed £1450 on a fire insurance policy. The claim was contested by the Australian Provincial Assurance Association on the ground that tha policy had been rendered void because plaintiffs when making their proposals for insurance, had not disclosed a risk which had already been declared by another insE r ance company.
