A HOSPITAL MATTER.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Just to bring to the notice of your readers a happening at the Grey River Hospital. On W| dnesday last the Laundry staff were informed by the Matron that their serivees were to be dispensed with. The staff i*> plied that they might as well go now. The Matron remarked mat she would ring right away for her other staff. Within, an hour, the new staff wtre on the job. What one wants to know sir, is whether the Matron, had the sanction of members of the Hospital Board in hef attitude. It is understood that the three Laundry workers tha«t were practically dismissed always gave satisfaction. Another question might be asked thb Board, and that is whether Colonials, are to be dismissed to make room for others who have only been a fortnight in the country^—l am etc., * COLONIAL.
