TENNIS.
TILDEN REINSTATED. (United Service.) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Assn.) NEW YORK, February 8. Tilden has been restored to a, good amateur standing by the Executive of the United States Lawn Tennis Association. He was suspended some six months ago for a violation of the Association’s player-writer rule. He will immediately compete at the indoor tournaments at New York, and then will proceed south to practice before he and Hunter begin a Euro pean tour in the coming spring. It is believed that it is unlikely that he will be chosen for the American Davis Cup team, although he probably will compete at other important European tournaments. It is understood. Me will obtain a place in the national ranking, despite his period of disqualification, and will head the list of the first ten.
