WELLINGTON, January !<• Both greatly impressed with the progress that has been made by the Prisons authorities in breaking in the pumice land at Hautu Prison Earn*, Mr Peter Fraser, M.P., and Mr Robert MP., who have just returned after a motor tour through the sniiddle portion of the North Island, in the course of an interview to-day, expressed, their conviction that the development 1 of that class of country would provide a suitable avqnue of employment for thoste out of work, while at tHe! same time increasing the country’s productivity and encouraging land settlement.
