MURDER MYSTERY
BODY IN GARAGE. Discovered Two Months Later. (Australian & N.Z.. Cable Assn.) (Received January 13 at 8 p.m.) LONDON, January 11. Scotland Yard is investigating the mystery murder of Vivian Messitcr, aged 55, Southampton manager of an American Oil Company, whose body was found, with a revolver shot through the back of his head. The body was found inside a private garage at Southampton, padlocked on the outside, ten weeks after his disappearance. ~ The police theory is that the murder 1 was committed away from the garage, and the body taken there. A postmortem revenl; that death took place two months ago. Messitcr was last seen on October 30th. Messi’er, who was born in Somerset, had a lengthy residence in America and on the Continent, and was a major with the Canadians during war time. It is believed he had a wife in America. and was murdered soon after his appointment at Southampton.
