THE WEATHER.
WELLINGTON, December 8. Th/' Dornin ion meteorologist’s forecast is as follows:—Pressure is still rather high to the east of New Zealand and a feebl? anti-cyclone is located ’ over south- ' astern Australia. A slight depression is crossing the Dominion. Moderate t*o fresh northerly winds, backing to southerlies later ,and freshening temporarily. Generally ism'oofth to moderate seas, but rising south of Cape Egmont and Castl‘point. Moderate northerly winds in the eastern Tasman backing shortly to southerlies with smooth to moderate sons. Weather unsettled, with scattered showers and •n places thunder; becoming cooler later. WELLINGTON. December 9. The forecast on Sunday evening was as follows: The. depression approaching New Zealand yesterday became eye lonic in form, and is now centred near Cape Egm on t. A moderate anti-cyc-lone lies ov4? the scuth-west Tasman. Moderate to strong southerly winds south of Cape Egmont and Castle Point; elsewh we, moderate to strong northerlies, but soi/.Lerlies, gradually becoming general. Seas rather rough north of Greymouth .and Akaroa; elsewhere moderat'*. Moderate to strong southerlies and moderate to rough sea-; in the eastern Tasman. Weather unsettled. with rain in most districts, but improving shortly f-om the westward. Cool temperatures.
