HOUSE BURNED DOWN MASTERTON, November 5. 'Ono of the first houses erected Fcrnridgei near Alasterton was totally destroyed by fire ' iatiy on ,Sunday morning. The occupier, Air W. Bennett, an employee of R<. M. Perry, on whose property the] house was situa ted, returned homp at midnight, and retired. Half an hour later he found the structure to be in flames. The property was insured for £4OO. Th<* house contained eight rooms. FIRES IN MARLBOROUGH. BLENHEIM, November 5. As the result of an early morning tire, a six-roomed farmhouse, owned and occupied by Air P. O’Connor, on the old Renwick Road, is a complete loss. Air O’Connor was compelled to escape through a bedroom window. The insurances are: House £675 contents £3OO. An old five-roomed two-storeyed dwelling at Renwick, occupied by Air Walter Brooks, was also completely destroyed by fire. The insurances are: Building £2OO. The contents, valued at £4OO, arc uninsured. TIMARU FIRE TIMABU November 3. Fire at an oarly hour this morning tota'.ly d'stroyed the interior of a motor car store, owned by the Dominion Motors, Lid, in Stafford Street the damage, amounting to hundreds of pounds. The store which was on the second floor, was divided into two sections, on: i being for new cars ano the oth'r for second hand cars. The fire had its origin in that part of the building containing new cars ,ten of which were cither destroyed or. seriously damaged. The cause cf th ‘ outbreak is unknown. LATER.
