tVESTLAND ASSOCIATION. The Westland Football Association met at Mr Crankshaw’s rooms last evening, all members being present, and Mr Crankshcw presiding. minutes of the previous meeting wer e read and confirmed. Outward correspondence was approved, and inward was dealt xvith. Mr J. Cowe wrote asking for compensation, he having been hurt in th e Reps v The Rest. No action was taken. Nelson F.A. forwarded a challenge for the Peter Dawson Cup. Having had. a challenge in as against Buller F.A., the Association regretted being unable to accept Nelson’s challenge, owing to all Saturdays’ fixtures being filled up. Mr J. Mossop applied for a transfer from Grey to Runanga. This application was not in order, as no application form had been filled in. Mr A. McNulty wrote offering his service. - as a referee., and it was resolved that the offer be accepted, a letter to be for warded to this effect. The medal Competition was gone into,, and it was do

eided that the former resolution be rescinded as to the two-round competition, and it was resolved that a knockout competition be inaugurated, and that fixtures be drawn up. Mr Buchanan wrote asking for a ball for the schoolboys at Dunollie. This *was referred to Runanga and Rowanui Clubs. Il was resolved that in the knockout competition the W.F.A. receive 50 per eemt. of the gate, and each club 25 per cent. Fixtures for Saturday next are:--Runanga v Brunner at Dunqllie, for the knockout (Mr J. Vaughan, referee); Blackball v Rewanui at Blackball, for the Blackmun Challenge Cup (Mr Hun ter Ritchie:., referee). AUCKLAND V. WELLINGTON. AUCKLAND. August 27. on the invitation of the New Zealand Football Association, Auckland. has decided to s?nd a representative team t’o Wellington next Saturday, to challenge for ihe English FootbaD Association’s Trcuhy.
