,Fires in Wanganui last year were caused in 12 different ways. These states Superintendent Williams of the Central Fire Brigade, were as folows— Hot ashes, defective chimney, painters blow lamp, careless use of candles sparks from copper fire, tar boiling over, filling benzine tank by naked flame, cigarette butts, internal combustion, spark from locomotive, spark from furnace, and careless use of matches.
