All other methods failing (says the Samoa Times). an endeavour was made to disarm Ihe man by means of rifle tire, with the result that he was wounded and disarmed. He was immediately taken ashore to Apia Hospital. Ilf died the same evening from shock and haemorrhage. At the inquest, the Coroner found that the course taken was necessary tor the prevention of loss of life among other members of the ship’s cov'.pany.
