OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT. CONSTANCE TALMADGE IN “VENUS OF VENICE.’’ Constance Talmadge comes to the Opera House to-night only in “Venus of Venice,” a rollicking story in which Constance appears as an impulsive, mischievous little canal gipsy whose life is one of thievery among the gondolas of the Venetian canals. Diving into and swimming through the canals with tho utmost abandon whenever occasion demands it, 'she has earned the sobriquet the “Water Eat.” And it is one of her daredevil escapades that brings her into contact with au American artist, in Venice—an acquainance that is productive of more excitement, more thrills, and greater joy than has ever been crowded into her life. In the leading male role opposite Miss Talmadge Antonio Moreno apears as the American artist. ' And the director is Marshall Neilan past master in the creaion of light comedy. MONDAY AND TUESDAY. MIGHTY “MONS.” A picture measures ijts ! greatness according to its theme, and as the theme of “Mons” is patriotism, it ranks right in front among the classics of the screen. Made in England by Englishmen, the new picture, which Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer' is distributing in Australia and New Zealand, comes to the Opera House on Monday and Tuesday and at Special Matinee on Monday at 2.45 p.m., and is an inspired piece of marvellous realism with every actor having army service to his credit. Under the direction of Captain Walter Summers, D. 5.0.. ?' C. M.M., nothing like it has been seen before by motion picture audiences.
