Lay, in an exhibition at a gymkhana, conducted by the Egmou: A and I’ Association? this afternoon. Lay’s previous best effort for New Zealand and Australia was 2U9 feet 4 inches, at New Plymouth on February 4. To-day’s effort is nearly seven feet better, and only 2 feet 5 inches short of the world’s record of 218 feet 8 3-8 inches.
