Eight Lives Lost THRILLING RESCUES IN SURF. LONDON. March 20. Eight lives were lost when a Hu trawler, the Lord l)<-\unport, wti wrecked off Hoy Island. Orkneys. Another became di niented. and had to be tod to a stan chion. He died before help arrived. Rockets were unable to reach th vessel. A lifeboat’s crew dragged si survivors through the surf by rop. after a twelve hours’ battle. ■ Ferry in Flames 50 PASSENGERS DEAD. HONG KONG, March 20. A Chinese ferry, plying on the Wes River, burst into flames, as the resul of an engine explosion. Fifty passer gers were either burned to death, o drowned.
