The new laws of auction bridge, operating from Marell 1, as revised, were adopted bv the Portland Club aft« r consultation with other London Clubs, anil will lie published on Munday. The language and laws are, eonsiderably simplified and condensed. rhe order has entirely been rearranged, therefore the incomparable seriatim with the existing laws. The present hundred laws are reduced to sixty-six ami divided into four sections. The first preliminary comprises laws 1-7. dealing with the formation of the table, precedence, and sanction ot partners. The. second section laws S3l, the rubber, dealing, shuffles, ent for deal, and auction play score. The third section laws 32-59, consolidates all the previous dealing with infringements and penalties, and the fourth section laws (60-66 miscellaneous) deals with minor matters like time limits, new cards, introduction of details, conference discussions and majority cal - ing. The appendix states that the. al teration of the new law is available for assistance for clubs’ players desiring to substitute a majority tor value calling.
