Yachting. CORNWALL CUP CONTEST. AUCKLAND, January 14. The first race in the fourth annual contest for the Cornwall Cup will be held in Waitemata Harbour to-morrow afternoon. An informal race between visiting crews took place this morning, Otago finishing 20 seconds ahead of Tauranga; then came Canterbury, Whangarei, and Hawke’s Bay. Auckland, Manukau and Wellington did not start. The annual conference of the Cornwall Cup delegates was held to-day. A remit from the Otago Yacht and Mo. tor Boat Association, that the conditions of the contest be altered to allow each competing province to provide and sail its own boat, was defeated, Mr Y. F. Bewley (Otago) being the only one voting for it.
