WELLINGTON, January 13. Dr Kidson’s evening forecast is as follows: There is an intense anti-cyc-lone over Tasmania, and it is extending eastwards. There is a moderate depression in North Tasman Sea. There will be strong southerly winds over central and north Tasman Sea, with rough seas; moderate to fresh south.westerlies over the South Island of N.Z., and gradually becoming general, backing to south-east later, and increasing, reaching gale force at a few places on the East Coast. Generally, there will be moderate seas at first, in N.Z. waters, but becoming rough later in Cook •Straits and on the East Coast. The weather will chiefly be fair to cloudy at first but unsettled weather is extending from the south, with showers, which will be heavy in parts of the East Coast. There will lie a thick atmosphere, and in places fog. The temperature will be ctfol.
