Near Inangahua. HEAD BLOWN OFF WITH GELIGNITE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, January 12. It was reported yesterday that a man named Hugo Trumpoldt was found dead in his hut at luangahua ,1 unction. Constables Houston ami Hill visited the place yesterday ami found that the unfortunate man had evidently committed suicide by blowing his head off ■with gelignite. He had apparently put a plug of lhe latter in his mouth. From the state of the remains it is surmised that the deed must have been done either Saturday night or Sunday morning. He was last seen alive on Saturday. The remains were brought to Inangaliua Junction, where an inquest was held yesterday before Mr Jas. Bell, Acting-Coroner. ’>o! The deceased is generally supposed to have considerable interest in a prosperous ma-eufacturing concern in Germany. LATER, An inquest concerning the death of the late Hngp Trumpoldt was held at luangahua Junction yesterday before Mr Jas Bell, Acting-Coponer, and after hearing evidence, the following verdict was returned: — “That deceased, Hugo Trumpoldt, committed suicide on or about the Bth .January, at luangahua Junction, by blowing off his head with gelignite, whilst suffering from the after effects of alcohol.” The remains wore interred in Mie Tnangahua Junction cemetery yesterday.
