DISPERSING THE MAU. ADMINISTRATOR’S ACTION. AUCKLAND, January 9. The Auckland office of O. F. Nelson received the following radio from Apia concerning the statements recently published reporting the sale of the business to Lever Brothers: “Nelson Company negotiating with London syndicate for big South Seas combine with Mr Nelson as managing director conducting business personally. All other reports adverse propaganda.” Messrs Westbrook, Williams and Meredith have been asked by the Administrator to meet the Mau Committee in Apia and submit to him in writing, within one week, what they propose to do to disperse the Mau. They have informed the Administrator that no efforts on their part are likely to be effective, but they xri’l try if desired.
